The world’s largest record company was looking to renovate the Stockholm office with the aim of reinforcing the image of Universal as “a world leader in an industry in the throes of dramatic change”. The big idea was that music should be ever-present. It should be possible to “listen” even in moments of silence. Famous song lyrics are present in the form of sound waves lining a long glass corridor. The company’s artists appear as striking motifs in black velvet on walls in the meeting-rooms. The new adaptable lounge-like office has become perfect for a venue of both smaller spontaneous performances and more large-scale release parties.
