Villa Tyresö

The ground floor façade is relatively closed-off towards the street, but as soon as you enter the house you are greeted by a beautiful view – the house opens onto a garden, and large window areas stretches along the entire south-faced façade. On the upper floor the view changes direction towards the ocean in the north. This is where the kitchen Is located and functions as the heart of the house.

In this single-family house the social areas are distributed on two levels, and a central double height atrium connects all of the social spaces as well as the roof top terrace. The materials are robust. The brick façade sometimes appears in the interior along with walls of rough plaster finish. A concrete floor continues onto the garden terrace and serves as contrast to the ceiling in wood.  On the upper floor the finishes shift, what was previously a wooden ceiling now becomes a wooden floor.
